Florentine Traditions and Festivals

“Non solo arte”
(Not just art) is an invitation to discover a Florence different from its museums and artwork, yet still deeply rooted in its unique art and culture. Discover the true Florence through popular traditions, historic re-enactments in original costumes, its ancient workshops and its artisan centre.

The Ufficio per le tradizioni popolari fiorentine (Office for Florentine Popular Traditions) is housed in the Palagio di Parte Guelfa, along with the offices for Calcio Storico Fiorentino and the Corteo Storico della Repubblica Fiorentina.
The Palagio's rooms are used for artistic, cultural and scientific conventions and conferences geared towards both national and international audiences. There is a specific brochure available which outlines how to request use of the rooms.
Over 500 people participate in the historical processions with their Renaissance costumes; they may be requested to participate in events, conventions, weddings, etc. There is a specific brochure available which outlines the regulations for their participation.
